Inquiry...

Is there a sci/fi/futuristic romance that recently came out that has to do with cyborgs? I feel like I've read a review or two recently, but I can't remember any details. I would just putter around, looking for it, but I've been really busy.

P.S.--Reading Poison Study, really enjoying it.

P.P.S.--Re: the JR Ward kerfuffle of a week or two ago.
There are two posts up at her board, one by Ward, one by the Mods, about respectful and welcoming behavior. Not trying to stir the pot or anything, just letting ya'll know. Either Ward was checking out Smart Bitches, or someone else let her know that it might be a smart thing to do.

P.P.P.S.--Kelley Armstrong has the prologue and first chapter of her new book, No Humans Involved, up at her site, and it's made me more excited for it than I was before. Also, next year, she will be doing a short graphic novella of Elena's first days as a werewolf. Online! Awesome!!

P.P.P.S.--Sorry about the lack of links, but the kids have had it, gotta go.

The only cyborg I know of in a romance was in Linnea Sinclair's Command Decision (ebook) which will be published reworked in print in February 2007 as Games of Command, reworked to also include material from the sequel she never got to publish as an ebook. The hero in this is a cyborg Admiral. Think Data to the max. :D

MJ Davidson writes a Cyborg/romance series: Hello, Gorgeous! and Drop Dead, Gorgeous!

I don't read much fantasy, scifi things so I can't help you out with that, sorry sweets!

As for the JRW thing, really? It's all two weeks later, I'm over it and I'm still over her...thanks for the heads up though.

Well I emailed JR with links to everything that went on since I was one of the ones to be banned. Would have been nice to email me back or reinstate me on her board instead of just putting up a post about respectfulness. But meh, whatever. I'm done, if that's the way she wants to roll than that's on her.

Maybe I imagined this book. Maybe I should write it. I've been looking around, trying to figure out where I may have seen it, but no dice. I thought I read the review quite recently and that the book was new. Thanks for the input, though. How're those MJD books? That's the one series of hers that hasn't intrigued me at all. Bev, the Sinclair book sounds awesome, even though the heroine has the unfortunate name of Sass . I don't think it's what I'm thinking of, but I'll be looking for it in Feb. Oh well, if anyone knows of any others, I love the whole man/machine idea. Veddy intriguing.

I think that the reason that the Ward brouhaha grabbed my attention so much is b/c I'm such a fan and lurker at her MB, and I realized how much I associate her w/her fans. She does spend a lot of time interacting w/them, and I think it sets a tone. And my automatic reaction when first reading about it, was to feel that she was buying into her hype, by banning Dylan and Jazz and letting those crazy people act as her mouthpiece. As I read more, I had changing opinions, but one thing remains the same--some of the Cellies really scare me. And whether or not Ward was actually involved in any of the things that took place, I think she needs to think about how she what she wants her online prescence to be like. 'Cuz I'm sorry, but I associate the Cellies and their comments (everywhere, not just in this case) with Ward, and, for me anyway, it's not a great reflection on her. Does that make sense?

Sinclair's books are awesome. I've been singing her praises since the first one I read by her in ebook. And I think the name is actually Sasha, the same as the one on Star Trek: Next Gen.

I only read the first MJD Cyborg book. It was okay.. basic chicklit & fun. It was very similar to her first Undead book.. but I LOVE that series. Next to Betsy, the Cyborg chick is just.. eh, ok.
