Contest Time! **Sticky Post**

It's time for the first ever Is That A Stake in Your Pocket? contest!! Woo-hoo!!

Free book!! Woo-hoo!!

And nary a pointy stake in sight, although the guitar is quite a potent phallic symbol. I just read and reviewed Rock Star, the debut novel by Roslyn Hardy Holcomb. I really enjoyed it, and since I'm pleased to give a good review to a new author, I'd like to help promote Ms. Holcomb by giving away my copy. Despite the fact that I hate to give anything away for free. Never let it be said that I don't do anything nice for those of you who take the time to read my posts, rather than just watching that Bob Newhart sketch.

Here's how it works: go read the review, then come back and comment here. What I want to know is this: What rock (or country or rap or opera or whatever you're into) star would you want to run off with? Who do you listen to and imagine that he/she is singing to you? It doesn't have to be much, just a who and why. All commenters will be entered into a drawing for Rock Star on the morning of Saturday, March 31st.

As for me...hmmm, that's a hard one, I lust after a lot a musical types, for a lot of reasons. But if I had to pick just one...this is a little embarrassing...

I've had a crush on Henry Rollins and his big, tattooed muscles since I was 15. For those of you unfamiliar with Hammerin' Hank, he used to be the lead singer of Black Flag, and later the Rollins Band. He's also got his own show on the IFC channel. Though he comes off as somewhat of a pretentious prat, I love that he's done so many different things. I'd love to take him down a peg or two, then climb him like a tree. Margee I am not, with the fantasies.

You can make fun of me, it won't be the first time. C'mon, let's hear who you'd do!

Keith Urban.....he's hot, and despite his issues seems like a pretty good guy to spend time with!

I'm with you with Henry. I'm a metal-head and have the hots for him and James Hetfield (of Metallica) forever. lol

I have to go with Stephen King for who'd I do. I know. I know. But what can I say? The man fascinates me. lol

Oh wow, you made that book sound totally great! I want it!

Okay, hmm...I've always thought Chris Martin from the band Coldplay is kind of hot. Do they count as rock? I think so. Anyway, yeah, hot! LOL.

Sir Bono. He could recite the Dublin phone directory and I'd be all over him like white on rice.

And Tim McGraw. He's singing to ME, not that stick insect hair bomb Faith b*tch ... ;p

I'll go with none other than Neil Diamond, who is a gem. A tangle of chest hair and machismo.

My roommate wants to enter, but doesn't have a Blogger name. She is really into Adam LAzzara from Taking Back Sunday. Not only does he have a hot voice, and strangles himself with a mic on stage, but he guest starred on Degrassi.

My co-worker Drew, who is a boy, mind you, wants to enter the contest with Justin Timberlake. Every song of his gets in your head, and the guy can dance. Plus anyone who can make Saturday Night Live funny (ahem, Peyton MAnning), is alright.

I would just like everyone to know that Margee was once so overcome by Neil Diamond's presence that she biffed down the stairs at MSG and later required knee surgery.

Margee's roomate and Drew are entered.

Good choices to everyone! Carry on!

I have to say I agree with Tinkerbon. I was totally going to pick Bono. That's probably an easy choice and I think I have a picture I can give from my bach. party of you 2 pinning something on a naked bono... my other choice was Tim McGraw - I would wear his hat anytime but since those are picked - i'll got with Lenny Kravitz. I think he's so hot. And since my mom doesn't know how to blog but would want to enter - i'm entering her with Jon Bon Jovi.

well, well, well- I don't have to enter in this contest because I *just* recieved my copy of Rock Star from Amazon! heeeee!

Ohhh you guys picked some goodies!

Bono! Lenny! yuuuuum!

but since it's so much fun- I'm gonna give you my answers even though you don't have to enter me in the contest:

What rock (or country or rap or opera or whatever you're into) star would you want to run off with?

I'm gonna fo with Lenny Kravitz too! grrrrr

Who do you listen to and imagine that he/she is singing to you?

Aaron Lewis from Staind. Love that boys anxst.

I'm dating myself here, but there's two for me. If either Jon Bonjovi or Bryan Adams asked me to run away with them, I'd be hard pressed not to go :). Although Keith Urban would be another one I might consider.

And the book sounds real good. I'm going to have to get a copy - either way!

Till Lindemann from Rammstein. He's a sexy beast.

(Hi everyone! I don't think I've visited here before.)

Hi shmoop, thanks for stopping by. I looked up Till Lindemann (I've heard stuff by Rammstein, but not that familiar). He is pretty cute.

I see that you're from Me. I love Me., went to Bates for two years. We used to vacation at Hills Beach near Biddeford, when we were younger.

Hmm...I'm not sure, this one is a hard one for me.

I think I'm gonna choose Dierks Bentley, because he got a haircut and I LOVE IT! I would've chosen JT but, I'm really feelin' Dierks right now and I'd LOVE for him to sing, Come a Little Closer to me, oooh, I'd love that a lot! Or wait...what about Josh Turner? Hmmm, that voice singing Your Man to me? Hmmm, this is so hard.

Can I take one of each? *smiles*

You were a Batesy? Well, isn't it a small world. I drive by Bates almost everyday. Did you graduate from there?

Thanks for the welcome!

I didn't end up graduating from Bates. It's a great school, with many great things about it, but it wasn't for me. Still love Maine, though.

Hope to see ya around!
